Digital Nomads - Co-Living in Thissio
THESIS project
Nov. 2023 - July 2024
Thissio, Athens

This project focuses on several aspects of co-living and the collaborative lifestyle. It explores how architecture may be used to develop thriving, environmentally friendly neighborhoods in the heart of Athens, shifting the pulse of daily life from the main streats to the heart of those regions. The study actively conducts a comprehensive examination of the neighborhood in order to completely understand its historical, ethnic, and social elements. It proposes a renovation of the existing building (a neoclasical three-storey house dating back to the 1800s), while adding two new additional buildings, all complementary to each other. The proposal blends a total of 21 apartments (with the potential to host 21-36 individuals) with working spaces on the first floor connected to the neoclassical building (café-restaurant). The layout aims to divide the spaces in a practical manner to improve flexibility and human interaction. A strong link between people, space, and community is fostered throught the central atrium inspired open space, along with the use of excessive plantation (local herbs and shading trees). These elements’ tasteful integration into the urban fabric, results in a distinctive urban living environment that fosters community and social cohesiveness.

OSTEOPRO - The Gym
This gym renovation project includes an enthusiastic owner whose goal was to turn an existing area into an elegant wellness
setting. The combination of natural elements, earthy tones and plants were the initial drawing lines. The white
wooden floor, as if in a dialogue with the white wooden beams, along with the abundance of natural light and teracotta
planters, creates a space far removed from the typical dark, neon-lit gym environments. The well-placed mirrors intensify
the sense of depth and light, besides serving the practical needs of athletes.

HOTEL ROOM IN ZAKYNTHOS
This room's earthy tones and neutral palette set the tone as a resting place, for people visiting Zakynthos island. The suite combines a queen size bedroom, with a fully equiped kitchen and a luxurious bathroom. Materials such as the stone tiles on the floor, were selected to simply compliment the sandy textured stucco on the wall, while the rattan headboard and wardrobe, give this room a bohemian touch.
